Case summary


We find the consumer’s claims that the FSP:

  • incorrectly charged fees to his account, and
  • inappropriately instructed a collections agent to attend his property,

have been established.

Consequently, we recommend that the FSP:

  • refund $330 to the consumer’s account, being the amount incorrectly charged in respect of dishonour fees, and
  • apply $500 to the consumer’s account in compensation for non-financial loss suffered with respect to the two inappropriate attendances at his property by the FSP’s collections agent.
