Review | 22 April 2016

Key issues:

Investment property | Inappropriate lending | Time limit for making a complaint | Residential investment loan | Lender | Complaint made outside of applicable time limit

Summary of the complaint:

The FSP provided a “low doc” loan to the consumers in 2007.

We were unable to deal with the consumers’ claims that the loan and the FSP’s conduct in providing the loan was inappropriate. This is because the complaint was not made to CIO within the time limit applicable under our Rules.

The Determination affirms the position set out in the Review.
